Emoji or smileys. We all know them, and use them on a daily basis. No text or Whatsapp message is sent without them, and even in emails they’re becoming more and more prominent.
Whether you’re a lover or a hater, emoji aren’t going away any time soon.
And why not take advantage of these little expressive faces, and use them in surveys? You can add them as answer options in a rating scale, for example, or to add some ‘pizzazz‘ to the question itself. You can also use them in your email invitations, e.g. when you wish to embed the first survey question.
Emoji are handled the same way as regular text. So you don’t have to worry about them not showing up in specific email engines, and you also don’t have to import them first into your media library, which you would have to do if you want to add images to your survey.
Will emoji work everywhere? ?
Emoji are treated differently on each device and each operating system. The website http://getemoji.com/ will list the different views when searching for a specific emoji.
There are a few rare cases where an emoji doesn’t work on all devices yet. This will also be indicated on http://getemoji.com/.

Change the ‘xx’ to the desired font size, e.g. 30px or 50px
In order to do so for questions, first click on < > to open the source code box.
